General, Science, and Technology, GST admission is a combined admission system for 24 public universities in Bangladesh. This blog will be updated when the authority publishes the circular for the 2024-25 academic year.

Key points of GST Admission test Notice: 

A GST admission test will be held for 3 units: A (science), B (humanities), and C (business). – Application will start on 20th May and end on 28th May 2024. (New information updated with authority notice) Applicants must meet the minimum GPA requirement to be eligible for the test. The GPA requirement varies for each unit. – After the test, a merit list will be published based on the total score of the admission test and the SSC/HSC GPA.

Admit will be available from August 1 to August 10. Carry a printout of the admit card to the exam hall.

GST Admission Test Requirements for Every Unit

A Unit (Science):

Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams (with 4 subjects)

Total GPA of at least 6.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams

B Unit (Humanities):

Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC/equivalent and HSC (with 4 subjects) 

Total GPA of at least 6.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams

C Unit (Business):

Minimum GPA of 3.00 in both SSC and HSC (with 4 subjects)

Total GPA of at least 6.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent exams

Physics and chemistry are compulsory for A  unit. Math and biology are optional (you can choose one). Or you can fillup an alternative option for math or biology with Bengali or English. 

GST Admission Test Marks Distribution

The mark distribution different for each unit. Here’s an example of the mark breakdown:

Unit A:

Total marks: 100

Time: 1 hour

Subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Math/Biology

Unit B: 

Total marks: 100

Time: 1 hour

Subjects: Bengali, English, General Knowledge, Geography/History

Unit C:

Total marks: 100 

Time: 1 hour

Subjects: Accounting, Business Studies, Economics, General Knowledge

The test will assess the candidates’ knowledge and understanding of the respective subjects based on the HSC curriculum. 

How To Apply Online GST Application?

The online application procedure will be as follows:

1. Visit the official GST admission website (link) and click the “Apply Now” button.

2. Register by providing personal and academic information.

3. Select units A, B, or C based on previous academics and fields of interest in pursuing studies.

4. Enter all the requisite information carefully.

5. The mode of fee payment will be through the given online modes of payment.

6. Preview and submit the application form.

When the application method goes successful, candidate will receive a confirmation email or SMS. The application status can also be checked on the GST website.

How to Pay GST Application Fees?

This fee will be paid online via numerous payment methods provided, which involve:

How Will The Admission Process Be Completed?

The admissions process for Academic Session 2023–24 will be completed in the following steps:

1. Application Submission: Candidates must submit online applications from May 20 to May 28, 2024. 

2. Verification: The submitted applications and the eligibility of the candidates will be verified by the university authorities.

3. Downloading Admit Card: Eligible candidates can download admit cards from August 1–10, 2024, for the concerned examinations’ seats.

4. Admission Test: The test will be held on the scheduled dates of each unit. One has to carry the printed admit card to the examination hall.

5. Publication of Results: Merit list preparation and publication by the authorities shall be based on combined scores in tests and SSC/HSC GPA after the admission test. The result has to be checked on the official GST website.

6. Choice Filling and Admission: Selected candidates will subsequently need to fill up choices for subjects and complete the final admission formalities within the stipulated date.

GST Admission Test Center

The tests will be held in different examination centers in Bangladesh. The exact exam centers will be announced later and will appear on the admit cards.

Candidates have to make a choice for exam centers. They will be allotted to exam centers based on their residential address and the availability of seats. They have to report to the designated examination center mentioned on the admit card on the exam date.

GST Admission Result with Merit and Waiting List

At the end, the authorities will prepare a merit list on the basis of the combined score comprising the scores and the SSC/HSC GPA. Then, publish a merit list on the official GST website; the link is given here.
